The Book Review of A Lifetime: Part 1

Hola mis compadres! So remember how a little bit ago I announced the fact that I had a gazillion books to review in Intro to Reviews 101…..well today is the day for pretty much all the reviews. Best part is, this post is only part one because I’m only going to review three books (maybe four) per post and I read a lot of books so there will be several “ultimate review” posts, all spanned out over a couple of days. What do you think? Awesome, eh? Before we get to the massive amount of reviews, I just wanted to remind you guys/let you know of the awesome fact that Avid Reader is now on Twitter! The first 25 to follow us on Facebook and Twitter get a follow back! There are only 14 more spots on Twitter left though so follow quickly for a follow back!  Now for the reviews!

The books I’m reviewing in this post is Roomies by Sara Zarr & Tara Altebrando, 45 Pounds (more or less) by K.A. Barson and Going Rogue by Robin Benway. So let’s start with Roomies; well, it was pretty good and the end was annoying (in a good way: I wanted to know more!) but it wasn’t a book that had a lot of twists and turns or surprises. At the same time, it wasn’t clichéd or too easy; still more twists would be better even though it would be hard to do in a realistic fiction book like this one. Anyway, it was still pretty good as it talked about the summer before two roommates’ first year in college. There was a bit of romance and riff and it was good.  Not stellar but still a nice, quick summer read. Now onto 45 Pounds (more or less): now remember how I was saying that Roomies wasn’t really cliched….well, this book was very cliched. It was still sort of good but there were no twists, no surprises and there were so many cliches! Which kinda stunk but still, it wasn’t totally bad. The characters were still nice but I still can’t get over the fact that the book was very cliched. Arghh! Why?! Okay, well, let’s move on to Going Rogue! Now this book was pretty awesome as it had twists and the new characters you meet are pretty awesome! The only bit was that I felt that the book ended a bit abruptly and that the book could have had a little more twists but it was still pretty cool.

Anywaysies, that’s it for today. Check back tomorrow for another awesome review as well as a Top Ten though I still need ideas for it! What do you guys think? Don’t forget to comment below what you think and follow us on Twitter and Facebook! Tata for now!!

Rate Roomies: 8.5/10

Rate 45PMoL: 7/10

Rate Rogue: 9.5/10
