My Calming Summers

Bonjour mis amigos! So today’s writing 101 prompt is:

“Choose a place to which you’d like to be transported if you could — and tell us the backstory. How does this specific location affect you? Is it somewhere you’ve been, luring you with the power of nostalgia, or a place you’re aching to explore for the first time?” with the twist being to “organize your post around the description of a setting.”

Here’s my post/answer:

It was mine. All mine. Well, not totally, it was part of other people’s lives but it felt like mine. It was the beach, but it wasn’t just any beach, no it was the beach where I practically grew up in; it was the beach where summer after summer I would go – where my family and I would go- and relax and have fun. It was and is a place I hold dear to me heart. It’s crashing yet calming waves, it’s more or less clear water, its gorgeous sunsets and its warm sand were and are all things that I enjoyed most. The fact that there was always a new adventure to be had on that beach is something I remember so fondly; we would bury ourselves in the sand, find water when we created a hole in the sand, make moats and castles…it was glorious and it will always be somewhere special in my heart.

Well, that’s it. It feels so personal but not too personal (more all you newcomers, I have a thing that I like to be quite private)…what do you guys think? Is it good? I felt it was short but didn’t know how to delve in deeper without hitting the personal stuff…Anyway, thanks for reading this! Hope you guys like it, can’t wait to hear what you thought, have a nice day/night and tata for now!

Tell us what you think!
