Design The Life You Love by Ayse Birsel – Blog Tour

YA Banner Bubble
Hello everyone! So today is pretty cool because it’s another blog tour and I just love them so so much! Anyway, so the book being featured today is Design The Life You Love* by Ayse Birsel which is a “joyful, inspirational guide to building the life
you’ve always dreamed of, using the principles and creative process of an award-winning product designer.” I most awesomely got a finished (!!!!!!) copy of it for review and I’m so so so beyond excited to share my thoughts.

So the first thing I noticed when I opened up the book, just flipping through, was that it had pictures and the words were big and the paragraphs were small. Now I don’t know about you, but that is always a huge draw in for me. See, as I started reading chapter books without pictures at a really early age, it’s always nice to be able to pick up something that does have pictures and is largely lettered and indulge the inner, younger kid in me.  Anyway, the other thing I love about this helpful playbook as they like to call it is that they give you directions on how to even use this book and say to do maybe 20 minutes in the book and then step away for a little bit/a whole day. No one’s ever told me to do work in that short amount of time and then told me that’s all for the day. Like can you imagine if you’re boss at work, or your school had you come in for only 20 minutes a day to work? That’s insane! And awesome! It’s kind of turned into this thing where every time I open the book, even if I’m just skimming through or looking at the pictures, I feel much calmer and relaxed and, with my last several weeks being some of the craziest ever, that feeling is pretty awesome.

Now as mentioned above, I had an insane several weeks (and I’m not even exaggerating) plus I’m still getting used to writing in books so I didn’t do any of the exercises in the book/on paper. Rather I did them in my head as I went through the book which was just as effective. Sounds weak but it’s true. In all honesty though, the exercises are super fun regardless of whether you do them in your head or write them in the book so do you.

DLYL_Don't Fold The PageAll in all, you can probably tell what I’m going to say and that is: GET THE BOOK. Like honestly it’s super wonderful. It’s effective and even if it doesn’t totally help you, it’s super fun and interesting and I’m sure that inner, younger kind in you will love it (at least). The links for the book (to check out more and buy it) are: Goodreads | Amazon* | Facebook.

But wait, there’s more! A giveaway! Yes, there’s a giveaway for 2 finished copies of DESIGN THE LIFE YOU LOVE (US Only)!

    • Awwwww that stinks (the not opening…the getting an ARC is cool!)…ooh that was me several months ago…there are several main tour groups that run blog tours (Rockstar Book Tours, The Fantastic Flying Book Club and Irish Banana are my faves thus far)….essentially you sign up to receive emails whenever a new tour is available. If you like the book, you can sign up but it’s not guaranteed to always get in. Usually book blitzes (a summar post about the book usually on its release day) are guaranteed (I think) but that’s it….I suggest looking up those three tours and more (search blog tours and you’ll find a bunch) and start there! Hope that helped!! 🙂

  3. I loved your honest review! I need this book at this point in my life. Obviously, I’m hoping to win a copy to keep forever, but I will somehow find it if I don’t win. Thank you so much for your opinion and thoughts.
