Book Humans Interviews: Hit The Books
Welcome to the Book Human Interviews! Every week I will be interviewing one person from our overarching book community: a book blogger, a booktuber, or, a bookstagrammer. The idea is to get to know people in each sector more and connect with each other. If you’d like to be interviewed, fill out this form and I will schedule you in!
Today, we are talking to Aayushi, the booktuber behind Hit The Books! Follow along as we learn more about one of our fellow Book Humans…
I’ve always loved books, and knew I wanted to talk about them somewhere, so once I found the booktube community I convinced myself that talking about books to a camera would be easier than writing about them. That’s obviously not as easy as my naïve little self-thought, but the ability to be within a community of people who also just love gushing over books is amazing. It’s still just as much fun as I expected it to be!
Q2: What do you like the most about said community?
Making friends, at least from what I’ve found, is easy. Most other small booktubers are friendly, and regardless of what your tastes are or what kind of content you produce, it’s easy to find someone willing to hype you up or help you out. Also, everyone making booktube content is doing it out of the same need to share about books, and it’s so much fun to be a part of something like that. I love watching book rec videos because the amount of love people have for books they recommend is so enjoyable to watch onscreen!
Q3: What’s a book you will always recommend – regardless of age or genre – and why?
The Thief, by Megan Whalen Turner. It’s the first of a series of YA high fantasy novels that honestly have something for everyone. There’s spectacular worldbuilding, endearing and well fleshed out characters, a well-written plot with one of the coolest twists in fantasy ever, and a masterclass in writing unreliable narrators. This series is my favorite, and I really just want everyone to read it and love it as much as I do.
Lastly, here are three videos that I love from their Youtube:

- PLAN WITH ME | To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
